Normally, the amount of uric acid in the body should be 3.5 to 7.2 milligrams per deciliter, when it increases, this uric acid starts to accumulate in the form of crystals in the joints.  Eating foods rich in purines increases the amount of uric acid in the body.

Uric acid is a toxin that forms in the body after the digestion of food.  The kidney also filters these toxins from the body through urine.  When the kidneys are unable to remove these toxins, they begin to accumulate in the joints.

This acid is formed by the breakdown of proteins called purines present in our body.  Patients with uric acid should avoid protein-rich foods.  If uric acid patients want to keep their uric acid under control, then avoid certain things in dinner.

Eating purine-rich foods at night increases joint pain but also worsens night’s sleep.  So let’s know what uric acid patients should avoid in dinner.

Avoid lentils in dinner: People who have high amount of uric acid, they should avoid lentils in dinner.  Beans are rich in protein and generate more energy in the body.  If you are battling with increased levels of uric acid in the body, then it should be avoided in dinner.

Avoid sweet foods: If you are suffering from hyperuricemia, avoid sugary drinks with dinner.  These foods can aggravate your problem.  Consuming it can increase the problem of gout.

Avoid eating meat: People with high uric acid levels should avoid the consumption of mutton in their diet.  Foods such as red meat, organ meats, minced meat and seafood such as mackerel, sardines increase uric acid levels quickly.

Avoid drinking alcohol: If your uric acid is high, then avoid the consumption of alcohol.  Consumption of alcohol can increase uric acid levels.  Drink more and more water at night instead of alcohol.  Drinking more water dilutes the urine and flushes out excess uric acid from the body.
